A Maui Blog

A Maui Photographer's Blog

I met Jag and Rupinder for a Maui beach babymoon photography session at Ukumehame Beach Park for sunset photos one beautiful day in May. They’d been to Maui several times. This time was special! It was their babymoon trip to Maui!

I love Maui beach babymoon sessions because they represent this precious milestone in a couple’s life. As you’re taking in the beauty of Maui, you’re dreaming of the future as a family. All these sessions, including this one, are always so full of sweetness and anticipation.

For instance, Jag and Rupinder decided not to find out whether their baby would be a boy or a girl. They were keeping the surprise! I love that! That’s what my husband and I did as well, and we felt it made the waiting more fun and exciting.

Best Locations for Maui Babymoon Photography

We chose Ukumehame Beach Park for their photos. They were staying in Ka’anapali but we wanted a less busy beach. Plus the driftwood, views of west Maui, and beige sand give it a cool, different Maui kind of vibe.

Important: Ukumehame has white sand, whereas most of the other side-of-the-road beaches with driftwood in that area have gray or charcoal sand. It makes a difference in photos! Black sand can look nice, but gray sand tends to look dirty and washed out in the photos. That’s why I recommended Ukumehame.

The location did not disappointed! Apart from one other person, we were alone at the beach!

What to Wear For Your Maui Babymoon Photography Session?

Rupinder wore a white long-sleeve maxi dress for her Maui babymoon session and it was the perfect choice! She looked so natural and effortless on that beach. She told me that the day of the shoot she had had a facial, and her glow was beautiful. Hard to tell if it was the facial or a pregnancy glow!

Looking forward to seeing these two and baby on their next trip to Maui, for Maui beach family photos!
