Tiffany loves bows, pastel colors, fashion, and plenty of sweetness, so the balloon photo shoot scene in Funny Face and the 2009 Dior Cherie ads seemed the perfect inspiration. It was a colorful day with lots of laughter, dancing balloons, static hair, and gentle touches to the belly as baby girl Huntley let us know she was present as well.

Endless rolling hills of bright orange poppies underneath a baby blue sky–that’s the promise of a super bloom at Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve in Lancaster. And when it’s really on, it delivers California vibes of the highest order.

On the West Coast the time for cherry blossoms has now come to an end. We were very happy to admire their beauty this year at Hakone Gardens and at Portland’s Tom McCall Waterfront Park. This minty green paired with the light yellows of sunset in spring and the caramel tones in her hair created a delicate, fresh but warm palette.

For Joyce’s feminine portrait I wanted to create something that is effortlessly elegant, daring, and sensuous–all qualities Joyce has. In addition it needed to reflect her confidence and adventurous but warm personality.

After a morning of thick, cool, fog rolling down the Tuscan hills at Villa Cetinale, the afternoon was blessed with sunshine that cleared the sky and warmed the landscape around us. In the midst of olive groves, boxwood gardens, and lemon trees stands a historic chapel. Its path and interior is lit with flickering candles, and its weathered, old wooden doors were left slightly ajar to gesture us to come in and see more.

One of my favorite ways to observe the seasons is visiting flower fields and gardens: when lilac hedges, rows of peonies, or sunflowers pop up for their time to shine, I feel joyful and a bit more connected to nature. And nothing makes me notice that spring has come more than tulips.
